Baseball Game Preview: Menlo School Knights vs. Terra Nova Tigers

For the second straight game, Menlo School will face off against Terra Nova. The Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Menlo School is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Menlo School proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 12) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Terra Nova, sneaking past 3-2.

Ben Salama spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Menlo School's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chuck Wynn, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Menlo School's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Terra Nova, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3-1.
