Softball Recap: Lone Peak Victorious

Lone Peak won the last time they faced Corner Canyon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Knights walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Chargers.

Clara Gourley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maggie Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

The win got Lone Peak back to even at 8-8. As for Corner Canyon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
