Basketball Preview: Spring Creek Spartans vs. Dayton Dust Devils

Spring Creek and the Dust Devils are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Spring Creek Spartans will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Dayton Dust Devils at 7:30 p.m. Spring Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Dust Devils like a good challenge.

Even though McQueen scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, Spring Creek still came out on top. Spring Creek secured a 65-61 W over the Lancers. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, as Spring Creek did.

Darren Bylund continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points. He hasn't dropped below 19 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jaron Johnson, who scored 11 points along with three blocks.

Meanwhile, Dayton had to suffer through a rough 62-18 loss at the hands of the Vaqueros. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dayton has scored all season.

Spring Creek's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Dayton, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Everything went Spring Creek's way against the Dust Devils in their previous meeting back in January as the Spartans made off with a 53-27 victory. Will Spring Creek repeat their success, or do the Dust Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
