Recap: Kimball Knights vs. South Oak Cliff Bears
While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, the Kimball Knights were not quite the South Oak Cliff Bears's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Kimball fell just short of South Oak Cliff by a score of 53-50. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Kimball came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while South Oak Cliff is ranked 763rd).
Kimball's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marri Wickware, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylon Dean-Vines, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Kimball has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for South Oak Cliff, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kimball will take on Sunset at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Oak Cliff, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Adamson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
