St. John the Baptist was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 31-13 bruising from the St. Peter's Eagles. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Maurice Scott and Brayden Mangan certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Scott threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes, while Mangan picked up 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Scott a new career-high in rushing yards (29).

Jeremiah Williams was his usual excellent self, rushing for 155 yards and two touchdowns for St. Peter's. Williams' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 125 rushing yards. Ryan Vallely was another key player, throwing for 146 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.

St. John the Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for St. Peter's, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

As of now, neither St. John the Baptist nor St. Peter's have any future games scheduled.
