Volleyball Recap: Minerva Comes Up Short

Minerva came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Beaver Local Beavers. The Lions have struggled against the Beavers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

While Minerva was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-15.

Their offense was headlined by Becca Jackson and Ayla Shellenbarger, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Addy Kocher and her 19 assists.

Minerva's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Beaver Local, their victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-2.

Minerva does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Beaver Local, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against River View on the 23rd.
