Basketball Game Preview: Madison Bobcats vs. Shelley Russets

The Madison Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Shelley Russets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Madison is coming into the game hot, having won their last 16 games.

Last Wednesday, everything went Madison's way against Bonneville as Madison made off with a 78-53 victory. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Bees are ranked 44th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Shelley was beaten by Hillcrest 76-38 on Wednesday.

Madison pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.1 points over those games. As for Shelley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Everything came up roses for Madison against Shelley when the teams last played back in December of 2020, as the squad secured a 52-19 victory. In that matchup, Madison amassed a halftime lead of 33-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
