Football Recap: Southern Academy Piles Up the Points Against Valiant Cross Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lowndes Academy, Southern Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over the Valiant Cross Academy Warriors. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their six-point performance the game before.

The win got Southern Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Valiant Cross Academy, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Southern Academy will venture away from home to face off against Bessemer Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Rebels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Valiant Cross Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Lowndes Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels' defense has only allowed 11.5 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them.
