Football Game Preview: Taft Wildcats vs. Kennedy Thunderbirds

Two dominant backs in Joe Weber and Jace Demacabalin are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Taft Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Kennedy Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Taft has given up an average of 44.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Taft came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against Wasco, falling 56-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Kennedy's game on Friday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shafter. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Taft was dealt a bruising 56-7 defeat at the hands of Kennedy when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Demacabalin, who rushed for 137 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries.
