Harrisburg extended the longest winning streak in Mid-Penn - Commonwealth this week by beating Central Dauphin East, 30-20. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Cougars.
pat irwin put up the best numbers through the air as State College topped Chambersburg. He finished with 10 completions for 209 yards and two touchdowns. Irwin's favorite target this week was Andrew Kelly, who caught four passes for 74 yards.
Jeremy Salmon was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 140 yards as Cumberland Valley bested Mifflin County. Teammate Ben Fernback added to the ground attack by rushing for 54 yards.
Bowman was the best wideout in the league this week as the Rams beat the Huskies. Bowman tallied four receptions for 76 yards. Drew Scales helped Central Dauphin's passing attack out by catching three balls for 46 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback irwin of the Little Lions is the league leader in passing yards this season with 862. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, the Eagles' Salmon has rushed for 630 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Bowman. The Central Dauphin star has 16 catches for 271 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Harrisburg and Central Dauphin. Calvin Everett's team enters the game ranked 15th in the state, while Glen McNamee's team ranks 12th.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Cougars take on the Rams. Harrisburg has allowed 80 points this season, while Central Dauphin has given up 78. The Cougars allowed 20 points last week as they defeated the Panthers.
The Rams led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Mifflin County. Brandon Lavia threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 26 yards in the win.
