Soccer Game Preview: Cumberland vs. Nottoway

The Cumberland Dukes will face off against the Nottoway Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cumberland's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Cumberland came up short against Randolph-Henry on Wednesday, falling 9-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Cumberland were already down 4-0.

Meanwhile, Nottoway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 5-1 to Amelia County. The match was a close 2-1 at the break, but unfortunately for Nottoway it sure didn't stay that way.

Nottoway now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Cumberland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Cumberland might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Nottoway when the teams last played back in April. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Dukes were down 3-0.
