Basketball Recap: Huffman's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday + How To Watch

Huffman dropped down to 6-4 on Wednesday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost to the Vestavia Hills Rebels on the road by a 63-47 margin. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Huffman's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antonio Hill, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. The contest was Hill's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. William Sanders was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

As for Vestavia Hills, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points over those games.

Emory Bear was a one-man wrecking crew as he almost dropped a triple-double with 19 points, 12 boards, and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Towry, who posted 17 points and seven rebounds.

Coming up, Huffman will be playing in front of their home fans against Parker at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Vestavia Hills, they will venture away from home to square off against Minor at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
