Volleyball Recap: Lima Senior's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of six wins, Lima Senior's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to the Continental Pirates. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Lima Senior was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Continental work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-16, 26-24.

When it comes to explaining why Lima Senior lost, don't look at Alisandra Vanmeter. Despite the final result, she had 20 digs and two aces. Vanmeter is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Lima Senior's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Continental, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 10-12 record.

Lima Senior didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Shawnee on the 15th. As for Continental, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against St. John's on the 15th.
