West Ranch has gone a perfect 10-0 against Saugus recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. West Ranch will be playing in front of their home fans against Saugus at 3:30 p.m. West Ranch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Saugus will be up against a hot West Ranch team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. West Ranch never let Canyon get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Friday. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Omar Gutierrez made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Jonathan Crowley looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.
Back at the plate, West Ranch got a massive performance out of Connor Clayton, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Clayton a new career-high. Landon Hu was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one run.
West Ranch hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Saugus entered their contest against Calabasas on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Saugus fell just short of Calabasas by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Centurions have suffered since February 24th.
Jake Kaplan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Matthew Carta, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
West Ranch's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Saugus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
Everything went West Ranch's way against Saugus when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as West Ranch made off with a 9-2 victory. Does West Ranch have another victory up their sleeve, or will Saugus turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
