Softball Recap: Millis Mohawks vs. Norton Lancers

Millis had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it eight. They lost 14-2 to the Norton Lancers. If the Mohawks were looking for revenge after losing 5-1 to the Lancers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Millis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Sparks, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

As for Norton, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games.

On Norton's side, Liana Danubio made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). Danubio has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Norton let Paige Donahue and Gabby Rodriguez run wild. Donahue got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Rodriguez went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Donahue has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Talia Faria, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Millis will take on rival Dedham at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Norton is set to square off against their familiar foe Ashland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
