Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Golden Valley). Everything went their way against the Buhach Colony Thunder on Wednesday as the Golden Valley Cougars made off with an 80-58 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cougars have posted since February 7, 2024.

Carter Chapman and Elijah Garza certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Chapman went 9 of 20 on his way to 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Garza went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Chapman a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Hector Alcantar, who posted 12 points.

Golden Valley's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Buhach Colony, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Golden Valley has already played their next game, a 55-44 win against Atwater on the 17th. As for Buhach Colony, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-36 defeat against El Capitan on the 17th.
