The Mountain Pine Red Devils will challenge the Magnet Cove Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Magnet Cove took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain Pine, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Mountain Pine turned things around against Caddo Hills on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Indians 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Devils have posted since April 10, 2025.

Mark Lusher was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Issac Canada, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Ventress, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Magnet Cove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 10-3 to Parkers Chapel.
Mountain Pine's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 2-9. As for Magnet Cove, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Mountain Pine got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Magnet Cove by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
