Baseball Game Preview: Kellis Cougars vs. Willow Canyon Wildcats

For the second straight game, Kellis will face off against Willow Canyon. The Cougars will face off against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kellis has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 12.

It was a proper cat-fight when Kellis faced off against Willow Canyon on Tuesday. The Cougars lost 16-3 to the Wildcats.

For Willow Canyon's part, Caleb Lemau looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Lemau a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cameron Davidson, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to triples, as he's now hit at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Malachi Lemau, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Willow Canyon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Willow Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Kellis, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
