Basketball Recap: New Faith Christian Academy Takes a Loss

New Faith Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 69-66 heartbreaker at the hands of the Butler Lynx. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lynx apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Butler got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Danny Bennett out in front who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bennett has scored at least a third of Butler's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julius Hamlin Jr, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.

New Faith Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Butler, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-7.

New Faith Christian Academy will challenge Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Butler, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against The Grace Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Butler is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.
