Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Macon County

Macon County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Turner County Titans 60-57. The win almost wasn't to be: the Bulldogs were down 32-16 in the second quarter.

Morgan Cochran was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 27 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Macon County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kynnedy Thomas, who posted five points and five boards.

Macon County's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Turner County, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-9.

Looking ahead, Macon County will square off against Washington-Wilkes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Washington-Wilkes' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. Turner County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
