Softball Recap: Wesson Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wesson can now relate to. They fell just short of the West Marion Trojans by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Cobras couldn't push the score so high this time.

Wesson's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-7. As for West Marion, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 22-4 record this season.

While Wesson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
