Seth Jones, Brandon Oakes among nation's best in 99-72 loss that involved death of Spring Hill player.

The death of Spring Hill player Nathan Stiles overshadowed, and rightly so, what was otherwise a spectacular game between Spring Hill (Kan.) and Osawatomie (Kan.) last week.

Stiles died after being knocked unconscious during a game that turned into a 99-72 barnburner-win for Spring Hill. Osawatomie had its own standouts in defeat, however, as Seth Jones threw for 505 yards and eight touchdowns and Brandon Oakes led the nation this week with 275 receiving yards.

One performance that had to have Cheshire Academy fans grinning from ear to ear was the play of quarterback Cody Keith. He reportedly threw for 637 yards and eight touchdowns in a 62-34 win over St. Thomas More. His performance broke the state record of 599 yards, set by New Canaan's Kurt Horton in 1970.

Following is a look at the top national stat stars as reported to MaxPreps.
