The Southern Nash Firebirds will face off against the Northern Nash Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
Southern Nash came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against South Stanly, falling 12-2.
Southern Nash saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Faulkner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Northern Nash can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on First Flight with a sharp 12-2 win. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Dominick Robbins was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Taylor, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Tristan Murray was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs.
Northern Nash kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Northern Nash's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Southern Nash, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.
Southern Nash beat Northern Nash 6-2 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Firebirds repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
