Basketball Recap: Irving Takes a Loss

Irving suffered their biggest loss since February 6, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt a 55-28 defeat at the hands of the North Forney Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 829th, while the Falcons are ranked 397th).

Zach Thompson was his usual excellent self, going 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points and three steals for North Forney. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Marshall, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 10 points and three steals.

Irving is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9. As for North Forney, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Brewer the next time they take the court. North Forney will head out to face Brewer at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while Irving will play them later in the day, at 9:00 a.m.
