Basketball Recap: Regis Jesuit Takes a Loss

If Regis Jesuit was riding high fresh off their 75-50 takedown of Perry on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 60-59 to the San Tan Charter Roadrunners. The contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Regis Jesuit still got an impressive performance from Eric Fiedler, who dropped a double-double with 37 points and ten boards. That was a full 62.7% of the Raiders' points, marking the fifth time in a row Fiedler has posted more than a third of the team's points. Greyson Rettig also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Peyton Lubash had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 40% from the field en route to 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds for San Tan Charter. Lubash's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Kristo Jackson was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Regis Jesuit fell to 4-1. As for San Tan Charter, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Regis Jesuit has already played their next matchup, a 76-62 loss against Basha on the 13th. San Tan Charter will take on Notre Dame Prep in a holiday battle at 2:45 p.m. on Friday.
