Peyton McComas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Emersyn Wilson also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Danville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Centennial 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won three in a row.
Deana Linares spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Danville secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Kendall Rannenbarger, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Paisley Bean was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Danville's record now sits at 7-8. As for Georgetown-Ridge Farm, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Georgetown-Ridge Farm's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Buffaloes have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Danville, though, as they've been averaging only 0.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Georgetown-Ridge Farm continue to outrun the ball?
