Baseball Recap: Meade County Extends Winning Streak to Three

Meade County waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Elizabethtown Panthers by a score of 3-0. This was payback for the Green Waves, who suffered a 7-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ethan Jolly looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

At the plate, Meade County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austyn Stansbury, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meade County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Meade County's record now sits at 12-4. As for Elizabethtown, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Meade County and Elizabethtown should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. The Green Waves will take on Hancock County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (30 vs. 155). Meanwhile, Elizabethtown (ranked 27th) will meet John Hardin (ranked 217th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
