Soccer Preview: Seneca Valley Meets Northwest

Seneca Valley has not had much luck against Northwest over the past eight seasons, but that could start to change on Saturday. The contest is scheduled at 10:00 a.m.

Seneca Valley came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but they unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 4-0 to Churchill. While losing is never fun, Seneca Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland soccer rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Churchill are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Northwest came into Wednesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past Gaithersburg 3-2.

Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Seneca Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Seneca Valley couldn't quite get it done against Northwest the last time they met, on September 14th as they fell 3-1. Can the Screaming Eagles avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll have the answer soon enough.
