Basketball Game Preview: Girard Indians vs. Poland Seminary Bulldogs

Girard is 1-9 against Poland Seminary since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Girard Indians will face off against the Poland Seminary Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Girard will be strutting in after a victory while Poland Seminary will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, Girard beat McKinley 51-42. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Aly Gassman had an outrageously good game as she went 8 for 17 en route to 20 points along with six assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Gianna Schubert, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Poland Seminary was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 42-38 to Struthers.

Girard is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Poland Seminary, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Girard came up short against Poland Seminary in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 40-33. Can Girard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
