Recap: Westside Seminoles vs. Griffin Bears

The Westside Seminoles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Griffin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Westside in their matchups with Griffin: they've now lost four in a row.

Westside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Talton, who scored 22 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Frazier, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Westside's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-11. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.0 points per game. As for Griffin, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Westside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Northeast is ranked 365th, while Westside is ranked 350th). As for Griffin, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against West Laurens at 6:00 p.m.
