Football Recap: Kingwood Mustangs vs. Stratford Spartans
Kingwood fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Stratford on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Stratford Spartans 44-38. Despite 55 more yards than the Spartans, the Mustangs couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
When it comes to explaining why Kingwood lost, don't look at Marquez Xavion Ziair Davis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 226 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave Xavion Ziair Davis a new career-high in rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Holland Hargrave, who rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown.
