On Thursday, Lafayette faced Madison Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Lafayette Generals fell 54-46 to the Madison Central Indians. The Generals' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Madison Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brittany Campbell, who posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. Campbell has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Nataya Strader was another key player, putting up 15 points and six rebounds.

Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 26-5. As for Madison Central, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 28-2.

Lafayette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Madison Central, they will square off against Frederick Douglass at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Frederick Douglass' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
