Basketball Game Preview: Mountain Crest Mustangs vs. Desert Hills Thunder

The Mountain Crest Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Desert Hills Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Desert Hills took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain Crest, who comes in off a win.

Mountain Crest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They took down Bear River 53-34. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Bears are ranked 100th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Desert Hills came up short against Dixie on Thursday and fell 49-38.

Mountain Crest pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Desert Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

Mountain Crest was able to grind out a solid victory over Desert Hills in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 58-50. Does Mountain Crest have another victory up their sleeve, or will Desert Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
