Football Recap: Terre Haute North Vigo Comes Up Short

Terre Haute North Vigo managed to slip by Southport the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Patriots were beaten by the Cardinals 36-0 on Friday. It was another big night for Braiden Brummett, who rushed for 218 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry for Southport. Those 218 rushing yards gave Brummett a new career-high. Jeremiah Stanovic was another key back, rushing for 56 yards and one score.

Terre Haute North Vigo's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Southport, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

The Patriots will square off against Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (224 vs. 44). The timing isn't great for Terre Haute North Vigo: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home dating back to last season, while the Tigers have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Meanwhile, Southport (ranked 180th) will meet Terre Haute South Vigo (ranked 45th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
