Softball Recap: Don Lugo Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Don Lugo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Diamond Ranch Panthers with a sharp 11-1 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 10-2 win last Thursday.

Aubrey Liester was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaile Enriquez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leylah Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Don Lugo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Don Lugo's record is now 16-8. As for Diamond Ranch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
