Mehlville faced Howell North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Knights. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Mehlville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Grant Drikow had nine assists and seven digs.

Mehlville's defeat dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Howell North, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
