Softball Game Preview: Elmore County Panthers vs. Alabama Christian Academy Eagles

Elmore County has gone 7-2 against Alabama Christian Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Elmore County Panthers will host the Alabama Christian Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Elmore County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Elmore County earned a 7-4 victory over Marbury. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Lalah Culpepper made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Hicks, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Edwards, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Alabama Christian Academy suffered their biggest defeat since February 14th on Thursday. They lost 14-3 to Stanhope Elmore. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Alabama Christian Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Childs, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Childs hit this season.

Elmore County's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Alabama Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Elmore County came out on top in a nail-biter against Alabama Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Does Elmore County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alabama Christian Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
