Volleyball Recap: Holy Name Green Wave vs. Marlington Dukes

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Holy Name can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Marlington Dukes on Saturday. If the Green Wave were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Dukes when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Holy Name was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Marlington work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-15, 25-23.

Allison Orzech paced Holy Name's offense, picking up 13 kills. Orzech got some help from Avery Preisel and her 30 assists. Orzech was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Marlington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amiiah Sickles led the charge by getting 13 digs and one assist.
