Softball Recap: Cannon's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

After flying high against Charlotte Country Day School last Thursday, Cannon came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Charlotte Latin Hawks by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Cannon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addie Hartz, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Cannon's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-6-1. As for Charlotte Latin, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cannon is set to face off against their familiar foe Providence Day at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Charlotte Latin will take on rival Covenant Day at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 2.1, the Lions 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
