Lindblom hasn't had much luck against Kenwood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Lindblom is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 22-5 to Chicago Washington.
Terrance Washington made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ajani Liddell, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Kenwood entered their tilt with Chicago Mt. Carmel on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Caravan. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 23, 2017, but that streak is no more.
Evan Stinson tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Kenwood is 2-0-1 when Stinson allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Kenwood saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Damaurion Butler, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Lance Moon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Kenwood pushed their record up to 6-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Lindblom, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
