Soccer Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants. If Central were looking for revenge after losing 9-1 to Kalamazoo Central when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Kalamazoo Central, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6-1.

Central and Kalamazoo Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Bearcats (ranked 354th) will meet St. Joseph (ranked 129th) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Kalamazoo Central will challenge Hackett Catholic Prep at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (200 vs. 87).
