Basketball Recap: Jihad Baker Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hobgood Charter

KIPP P can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Hobgood Charter Raiders as the KIPP P Pride made off with a 65-44 win.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead KIPP P to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jihad Baker, who posted 13 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Another player making a difference was Tristian Sharpe, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

KIPP P smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

KIPP P's record is now 2-3. As for Hobgood Charter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. KIPP P will head out to challenge Wilson Prep at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Hobgood Charter, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North East Carolina Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
