Baseball Game Preview: Harlan Hawks vs. Stevens Falcons

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Harlan Hawks face off against Stevens Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harlan knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Stevens likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Harlan got the win against Holmes by a conclusive 12-2.

Meanwhile, Stevens suffered their closest defeat since April 23, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Sotomayor by a score of 4-2.

Jeremy Gallardo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Jordan Vargas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

Harlan is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. Stevens' loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10.

Harlan beat Stevens 7-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Does Harlan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stevens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
