Preview: Kentlake Falcons vs. Auburn Mountainview Lions
Kentlake is 0-4 against Auburn Mountainview since June of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Kentlake Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Auburn Mountainview Lions at 7:00 p.m. Kentlake comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Kentlake pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 81-69 to Auburn Riverside.
Meanwhile, Auburn Mountainview can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They breezed by Jefferson on the road to the tune of 68-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Auburn Mountainview has posted yet this season.
Caleb Bowden was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Arius, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Kentlake bumped their record down to 0-14 with that loss, which was their 14th straight at home. As for Auburn Mountainview, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.
Kentlake might still be hurting after the 59-35 defeat they got from Auburn Mountainview in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Kentlake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
