Soccer Recap: Homestead Find Success

Homestead's game on Wednesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Los Gatos Wildcats, sneaking past 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Owen Gibbs and Aaron Kang scored both of Homestead's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Homestead now has a winning record of 4-3-5. As for Los Gatos, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4-1 record this season.

Homestead and Los Gatos should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Homestead (ranked 231st) will meet Fremont (ranked 746th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Los Gatos will challenge Wilcox at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 215 places (194 vs. 409).
