West Holt had won two straight games and Monica Chavez did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Huskies came out on top against the Plainview Pirates by a score of 2-0 for which the team can thank Chavez, who had eight kills, seven digs, and one block. She has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last nine times she's played.

West Holt never let Plainview on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-22.

West Holt's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Plainview, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Coming up, West Holt will challenge Elkhorn Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plainview, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Elgin/Pope John on the 27th.
