Basketball Recap: Tuscola Comes Up Short

If Tuscola was riding high fresh off their 52-30 takedown of North Henderson last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tuscola Mountaineers fell 47-34 to the East Henderson Eagles on Friday. The Mountaineers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 59-45.

Kayden Henderson was a one-woman wrecking crew for East Henderson as she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Henderson a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mamie Hill, who posted 14 points and five rebounds.

Tuscola's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for East Henderson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tuscola will challenge Pisgah at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuscola is on a five-game streak of home wins, Pisgah a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for East Henderson, they will take on North Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Henderson is facing North Henderson at the right time seeing as North Henderson is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
