Basketball Game Preview: Wayne Trace Raiders vs. Woodlan Warriors

The Wayne Trace Raiders and the Woodlan Warriors will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Wayne Trace is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 55 points last Thursday, they were much more limited against Ottoville on Saturday. They took a blow against the Big Green, falling 58-21. The game marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodlan). They breezed by Heritage to the tune of 68-18 on Saturday. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 51.2 points per game.

Wayne Trace better keep an eye on Brooke Kneubuhler. She was instrumental in Woodlan's win, going 6 for 12 on her way to 15 points and five steals. Alyssa Anderson was another key player, putting up eight points and eight boards.

Woodlan was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only posted four assists.

The victory made it two in a row for Woodlan and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for Wayne Trace, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.

Wayne Trace came up short against Woodlan in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 51-46. Can Wayne Trace avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
