Bear Creek is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: D'Evelyn, who was ranked ninth at the time (Bear Creek was ranked 22nd). The Bears fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 3-2 on Saturday.
Bear Creek took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-17, 18-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-7.

Bear Creek's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aiden Nguyen, who had 17 digs and two aces, and Nicholas Lathrop, who had 12 kills, ten digs, and three aces. Nguyen has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times he's played.
Meanwhile, ThunderRidge sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Ponderosa on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.
ThunderRidge took Ponderosa into a fifth set where they got it done with a nine-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 21-25, 20-25, 15-6.
ThunderRidge's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Bear Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Bear Creek has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.9 aces per game. However, it's not like ThunderRidge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
