Argyle gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Belleville Wildcats 6-5. The Orioles haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Mya McNett was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over nine innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. McNett was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddy Lange, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Brinley Meinert, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Argyle will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lena-Winslow at 4:30 p.m. on May 2. As for Belleville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Dodgeville at 5:00 p.m.
